Get To Know: Bell's Double Two Hearted

Tasting Notes: Double IPA with intense citrus, bubblegum and pine aromas. Rich malt. Made especially for avid Two Hearted fans, this Double IPA version of Bell’s classic, Two Hearted Ale uses the same malt and hop profile, taken to the next level of intensity.  First brewed in 2015, Double Two Hearted is hopped at 2.5 times the rate of regular Two Hearted. It was first brewed at B1, our original brewery, for our 30th Anniversary Funvitational party. 2018 marks the first time this beer is being brewed in our Comstock Brewery.  100% Centennial hops and the fruity aromas of our house ale yeast are what give Two Hearted and Double Two Hearted their balanced but distinct, juicy hop notes. Double Two Hearted is being triple dry hopped to enhance the depth and complexity. Want to enjoy a Double Two Hearted? Check to see if it's on tap at the Eccentric Cafe, find it at a special event near you or check out our beer finder to see where you can grab some!

Two Hearted ranked again as one of the best by readers of Zymurgy

Zymurgy, a publication from the American Homebrewers Association, annually asks its readers to share their 20 favorite beers that are commercially available in the U.S. And once again, Two Hearted has ranked in the Top 10. This is actually the seventh year in a row Two Hearted has claimed the No. 2 spot on this list. Hopslam was also part of that same list, ranking this year at 8th. Among brewery rankings, we came in at No. 3 and tied for second with Sierra Nevada for Best Portfolio. We are incredibly proud and humbled to be ranked amongst so many other great brewers by those who share in the very same passion that set us on this path more than 30 years ago. Thank you, homebrewing community! Check out the complete list here.

Celebrate National Homebrew Day with this Two Hearted clone recipe

Today we celebrate National Homebrew Day. It all began for us when our founder Larry Bell started brewing with a 15 gallon soup pot. More than 30 years later, homebrewing continues to be an important part of who we are as a brewery. So, how are you going to celebrate? Here is a link from the American Homebrewers Association of a clone recipe brewed by two of our resident homebrew experts, for one of our most popular beers: Two Hearted Ale. Two Hearted is a favorite of homebrewers. Readers of Zymurgy, published by American Homebrewers Association, picked the IPA as the second best beer in America. We also sell everything you need to start brewing at our General Store, both in Kalamazoo and online. If you have any questions about your brews, we’d love to help.
